TAKE ACTION
People often thank it takes special skills, money, time to take action against domestic violence. That is not the truth. All it takes is a little effort and time.
Below are some ideas for small ways you can make a big difference each month in helping Alternatives To Family Violence achieve its mission of ending violence and oppression.
January
Match your coffee (or soda, chocolate, etc.) budget with a donation to Alternatives

Ask you florist to donate a percentage of their Valentine’s sales to Alternatives

Make a donation in honor of your favorite heroine in month of Women’s History month.

Be a shopper. Spend an afternoon at a store, asking people going to buy an item for Alternatives

Attend the Poker Run
May
Adopt a Mother. A nice pampering bag of lotion, slippers, bath robe, flowers, etc.) would be greatly appreciated by the mothers.

Attend the Mother’s Day Brunch
June
Have an office/work competition to see which group can raise the most money. Ask the boss to match the winning pot.

Have a summer bar-b-que party and have guests all donate an item (box of Kleenex, box of tampons, jug of laundry soap, etc.)

Buy extra Back to School Supplies for Alternatives

September
Come to our 30 th Anniversary “Seeds of H.O.P.E: A Year of Alternatives” Gala Event.
