30 th Anniversary
SEEDS OF H.O.P.E. —A Year of Alternatives
We need YOU!!
This celebration will encompass the many changes of both the past and the present with a look towards the vision of our future. Our 30 th Anniversary Steering committee, comprised of community partners, former Board of Directors and former staff will hold its first committee meeting in February. The one element missing is YOU: the community; we need your participation to assist in paving the way for another thirty years of service.
We need YOU!! Be a part of our historical 30 th Anniversary “Seeds of H.O.P.E.—A Year of Alternatives.” This celebration will encompass the many changes of both the past and the present with a look towards the vision of our future. Our current plans include the Annual Gala Event on September 26, 2008 and the introduction of several new events:
- Mother’s Day Leaders Brunch in April
- You can have fun while creating ways in which you can assist Alternatives To Family Violence continue its efforts to end violence against women. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Clean out your closets and donate gently used item to our “Dress for Success Career Closet.” Remember, these are items used by women within our program who need
- Up-to-date clothing items to wear for job interviews.
- Rent out your cabin for the weekend and donate the proceeds to Alternatives To Family Violence
- Ask your business to sponsor an Alternatives fundraising event
- Invite 30 of your friends to a wine and cheese, dessert tasting, jewelry making, or cosmetics party and ask that they make a donation to Alternatives To Family Violence before they leave
- Ask you faith-based organization to designate Alternatives To Family Violence as their “reserve collection”
- Create a “pay it forward” opportunity with Alternatives To Family Violence as the beneficiary
- Invite an Alternatives To Family Violence staff member to speak at your next sorority, fraternity, service league, Lions, Elk, or Moose Club, Rotary, or church guild meeting.
